If you have a newborn, sessions are best scheduled within the first 4-10 days. Please call before the baby is due so we can reserve time around your due date.

Family of 6 - My last session

July 3, 2009 – 9:28 pm

This morning was a little bittersweet for me. This was my last session before going on maternity leave. But as much as I look forward to my sessions, I also look forward to getting prepared for my little one to come and lets face it, at 37 weeks I must look a little funny moving up and down to get just that right angle. The blog will probably get a little quiet but I promise to post pics of my own little guy when he arrives. For those who I owe galleries and orders to, I’ll keep you posted if any delays are expected from an early arrival. Sessions will start up again in September. September and October are filling up fast so if you’d like a fall session, send me a note.

This was a great last session, not only did we have a beautiful morning but also the subjects are very dear to me. This was one of the very first images I took and I knew this was going to be fun!

Proved me wrong - 5 week old Miss M

I love it when they prove me wrong. Normally, when newborns pass that magic 2 week window, those sleepy shots get much harder. I always warn parents that we may not get quite as many since they’re just so much more alert at this age. Well, Miss M proved me wrong and was out for a good hour right when I got there, bless her little heart. So cute!

Family of Four - Minneapolis Family Photographer

What a great morning for a family session. I swear I get to photograph the most beautiful families. The H family was no exception, you really can’t take a bad picture of them! Mrs H picked a great location for the session. Perfect location, perfect outfits, and the nicest family…I was in heaven.

Little Rocker - Minneapolis Children’s Photographer

How can you not fall in love with those eyes and curls! Too cute! I say it all the time, but it always amazes me how much they change that first year and an honor to be a part of it. He was a trouper in this heat and even though I left with no doubt, often I know parents leave sessions saying “I wonder if she got anything”? Well, no worries…

Happy Father’s Day - Out of Office

June 18, 2009 – 11:04 am

We’re heading out to the wild outdoors (well, not really…we’ll only be about 30 minutes away) but we’re taking the kids on their very first camping trip this weekend! I camped a lot as a kid and have great memories but since then we’ve been doing the cabin thing so this may be interesting. I know the kids are going to LOVE it. I will return emails and phone calls on Monday.

Beautiful Maternity Family (Part I) - Minneapolis Maternity Photographer

I have been itching to do an outdoor maternity for a while now so this was so much fun for me. We picked a wooded area for the first set then headed over to another spot for a little urban feel so this is part one. They are such a beautiful family, they made my job easy.

Miss M at 9 days - Twin Cities Newborn Photographer

I know there are some parents and grandparents excited to see these! Miss M was such a trouper…she did it all. At 9 days old, she posed, she smiled, and on top of that was so cute that if I didn’t have my own baby on the way I would have been tempted to keep her. Of course, I highly doubt I could have talked her parents and grandparents into that idea.

M’s mom has amazing taste and it was so fun to incorporate their home into a few of the pictures.

Babies, babies, babies…

I have the best job ever. I have the honor to capture this fleeting time in a little one’s lives, get to know their families, and share in their stories. This is 6 month old Miss F. You can see her newborn images featured in one of the blog headers. I remember at her newborn session meeting her parents. She is a miracle baby, born right before Christmas and I remember how her parents were just head over heels for her. While our conversations have changed from pregnancy and birth stories to sleeping through the night and tummy time, it was clear again today that she is the center of their world.

She wasn’t quite sitting yet but loved to stand…and loved her mom

Little Miss Smiles - Minneapolis Child Photographer

This little one was ALL smiles! Miss J just turned one and had changed so much since her newborn session. She has so much personality and is on the go. J just learned how to walk and wanted to move, move, move! After rescheduling due to rain once, we almost did again but lucky for us, the sun peaked out just in time yesterday for our session. I loved her sweet smile in this one…just a doll.
